The Science of Being Still

The Science

The science of Being Still is an explanation of the true nature of mind and thought. It examines how our own thoughts affect our entire being. It examines how much our thoughts affect who and what we are and who and what we are becoming, and to what degree our thoughts influence  our entire life and experience.
It correctly explains the relationship between mind and thought and their relationship with our conscious and intelligent spirit. The reality of these relationships is all important in establishing a correct understanding of how they interact with each other and affect our life and experience.

To begin our quest, we need an understanding or have a baseline from which we can communicate this knowledge and be on the same page. To that end we need to understand and agree on what is really going on in the thinking process. This includes the parts involved in the thinking process and how they interact with each other. We need to understand what of the parts involved in the thinking process is really in charge of what is thought. What is that part of us within the thinking process that makes the decisions. What part of us is affected by those decisions. What part of us is happy or not, at peace or emotionally distraught because of our thoughts and those decisions. That part is our conscious and intelligent spirit.
There is a  part of us that experiences life and is affected by it, that part of us that is affected by our experience, that part of us that is happy or unhappy, is our conscious and intelligent spirit.
Conscious intelligence is the first principle of your existence, it is not created and is not a part of the mind. We are conscious and intelligent spiritual beings within this body of flesh and mind. Your spirit is the conscious and intelligent part of you. Mind is subject to and nothing more than an appendage of our conscious, intelligent spirit.
A knowledge of how the thinking processes work and it's  relationship with our conscious and intelligent spirit is key to knowing ourselves

Conscious, intelligent spirit is the author and creator of thought.

The mind alone is inert; it has no intelligence because it is energy.

The Art and Science of Being Still

The critical fact that needs to be remembered is that the conscious and intelligent part of us, our spirit, is not a part of or an extension of our mind, the mind is only a medium of experience and a tool of our conscious intelligent spirit. It is in fact like a lens that we experience life through.

The mental processes work differently than what is thought and taught. Many have assumed that thinking somehow just happens and we have no control over it. And we have been given other theories for explanations, such as thinking involves the firing of synapses in the brain or because of electrical charges transferring between contact points in the brain. Another theory teaches that neuro-pathways are established both physically in the brain and are transferred to mind and that somehow determines our actions and what is to be thought. None of these or any of the other theories regarding how the mind and thought works that have been put forth so far by biology, psychology or any of the other sciences are reasonable. All are just theories and to continue in the established scientific lines of thinking there would exist no possibility of a cure for depression or rising to a higher level of consciousness or spirituality.

We are less complicated,

more importantly our mind and how it functions is less complicated than what we are taught to believe.

Have you ever asked yourself, what governs what is to be thought and how do we think a thought or what thought is to be thought? Do we leave that to a firing of a synapses or an electrical charge?

It is a certainty that if science continues to hold onto and cling to their lines of thinking they will never be able to define or answer basic questions about what really happens in the thinking processes.

Because science never recognizes the existence of the spirit and its essential place within us they will continue searching but will never be able to answer some basic questions. How are we designed and made and why? Or simply how do we think? What is the process or what happens in the process of thinking a thought?

First of all, the brain is not the initiator or instigator of thoughts, even those related to bodily sensation such as vision, taste, noise, smell, touch, pain or hunger, the brain is just the hardware that only receives and transfers information between body and mind.

Thinking happens differently than what science teaches and assumes. It has never been seriously considered how our mind and the thoughts within it really work. These questions have never been asked or addressed correctly. How do we think? What is going on in our heads when we think? How and what happens and why? What is the process of thinking a thought? And the universal question many of us asks, why am I having these thoughts that I don’t want to think?

In order for thinking to happen there has to be an interaction or a communication between two things. That interaction happens between our conscious intelligent spirit and our mind. There has to be a presenter of the thought, which is what the mind does and a witness to the thought, which is what our conscious intelligent spirit does.

The thinking of a thought is an event or an interaction between these two separate parts of us, our mind and our conscious and intelligent spirit. Not unlike watching a movie we, our conscious spirit, is the viewer and the mind is the projecting equipment and the screen. The thoughts that the mind presents on the screen are like the scenes in the movie.

There has to exist a difference between you, the conscious intelligent witness, and your mind, the presenter, for things to happen this way. Your intelligent spirit, your conscious witness, witnesses the event of the thought that is presented to you by your mind. When the mind presents the thought to your conscious spirit, your conscious spirit, the intelligent and conscious part of you, then processes the thought and the information the thought presents,

Your conscious intelligent spirit, that is the part of you that is conscious of the experience, considers the information contained in the thought, combines it with any other information it has, makes a decision, then acts on it, stores it, waits for more information, or dismisses it. Your conscious spirit is the intelligent portion, the executive branch and the decision maker.

Mind is the recording and broadcasting, filming, filing and mechanical function of the mental processes. Mind has no innate intelligence beyond its capacity to present the thoughts to consciousness. That function is one of the natural processes of the mind, it is as much a natural process as the stomach digesting food. The mind is an inert substance dependent upon the light and life force of the conscious intelligent spirit.

The thinking process is the communication or interaction between your conscious intelligent spirit and your mind.

When you understand these concepts you soon realize that your mind is not god, nor is the mind all that you are, neither is the body who you are, you come in three parts, body, mind and spirit. Above all and foremost you are a spirit, a conscious intelligent spiritual being that uses your body and your mind to gain knowledge, experience and to interact and function in life.

For many of us the mind seems to be such a mystery. Because it appears to be so vast and to have so much power we are daunted by it. Almost like the ocean or outer space, we are in awe of what may be out there and within its vastness. But the apparent vastness and mysteries of the mind are only because of our lack of understanding and the perception we hold. In fact the mind is not the powerful, vast and infinite thing within us, it is merely a medium of experience, it is the lens that we experience life through. It is our spirit that is the powerful, vast, infinite and immortal part of us. It is our spirit and not our mind that has vast, unlimited and infinite capacity and potential.

In fact, the expression and realization of all of the power and capacity of our spirit is hindered or limited by what our thoughts and mind convinces us that our limits are. Your shortcomings are shortcomings of the mind and not you or the conscious and intelligent spirit that you are. Any limits, confusion and inabilities that you perceive you have is because of the limits, confusion and inabilities that are in your mind.

The mind is the lens that your spirit experiences this life through and like any lens, if it is colored, blurred or out of focus, it will distort everything you see and experience. We all have varying degrees of distortion in our lenses  and to the degree we have distortion our perceptions and understanding of life is at least skewed.

The purpose of spending time every so often Being Still is to help clear the lens of mind so that our perceptions are truer.
